Meet Kathy Thompson

Kathy received her B.S. in Business Communications from Wisconsin State University, River Falls, late in life, after serving 13 years in the military, Air Force & Navy.

As a child raised in Western Wisconsin, Kathy was chubby, shy, backward, inferior. So the military was a big step. In order to get into the military, Kathy had to lose weight, which spurred her passion for Health & Fitness. A Master Training Instructor in the Air Force, Kathy taught classes for five years (thousands of students). She researched and developed lessons for 12 subjects. Training new instructors was also part of the job. The Navy also used Kathy's teaching abilities. She also wrote and taught her own adult education classes at Wisconsin State University, River Falls * Open-U, Minneapolis, Minnesota, * Compu Vista, Sacramento, Ca, * Hudson, Wisconsin Community Services. Writing (fiction & non-fiction) has been a life long passion. She has over 25 years of administrative work experience which has included every type of business writing. She still uses her shorthand. Her articles have appeared in various publications on and off line. She has written a newspaper column and newsletters. Teaching and Toastmasters have made Kathy an experienced speaker. With eight years of teaching and over 15 years in Toastmasters, Kathy really enjoys the podium. In 1982, Kathy got involved in the study of Face Reading, and is one of the few Face Readers in the country. Her research has developed into; website, newsletter, reports, booklets, tapes, columns, personality profiles, shows, programs, appearances on television, radio, newspapers, and national publicity. Wandering from office job to office job, Kathy was never satisfied. She credits Face Reading in helping her find out who she is; A Creator! She was born with a pencil in her hand and loves to speak. I locked my keys in my car!

I was going to go jogging out in the country. I drove out Troutbrook Road to my favorite quiet beautiful wooded area. Pulling over near the bridge I noticed several fishermen staking their spots Along the river. It was fishing season opening day. Getting out of the car I slammed the door shut. Looking inside I noticed the keys in the ignition. My heart sank. What was I going to do? Looking around at the fishermen, who was I going to ask help from? I saw this husky guy with a long turned up nose. I told him I locked the keys in my car. "Oh yeah. I do that all the time." Smiling he laughed heartily. "I'll help ya." He looked at my old Malibu, then looked around the area. There was a nearby Barbed wire fence. He broke a piece off and bent it to form a hook. He reached in the slightly opened window, and unhooked the lock. I thanked him and really enjoyed my jog in the country. What would you do in a situation like this? My solution was face reading and it worked. This is only one area where it can be used. Knowing the personality behind any face, you will know ahead of time how people will React.

What you are about to discover is so easy and unique, everyone can do it. Our world would be better off. If someone told you "You're getting fat", how would you react? If someone told you "You're getting gray," how would you react? Would you be hurt, angry, or make a joke of it? You have a choice. You choose your behavior and how you react to other people's communications and behavior. It is your decision to use your personality positively or negatively. It is that decision that affects your relationships with everyone in your life. It can make or break your relationships. We all have the same personality traits. We are possessive, critical, impatient, tolerant, generous, selective, moody, skeptical, stubborn, adventurous, plus 58 other traits. Generosity appears to be a nice trait to have, right? Not when it is used to the extreme, then it becomes negative. Possessiveness appears negative? Possessive people do hoard things, people, and time. On the positive side, they do work towards security, and make good managers and providers. Once you understand this, you will realize you can control the situation. You can manipulate and use the person or the situation. You can use this knowledge to your advantage or disadvantage, positively or negatively. When you act positively you will bring out the positive in others, including children. When you act negatively others will react negatively, including children. What you project comes back to you! If you are act positively towards people, they will know it, and that will be related back to you. Now, what can you do with this information? You can use it to manipulate and control the person and/or the situation. The control comes from you using it positively or negatively. It is your choice.

"Are You Too Critical?" Criticalness can be seen in eyes that slant down. First of all, Criticalness breaks up more relationships, than anything else. And that criticalness is usually over the children or money! They notice anything that is out of line and can spot problems and the flaws. Yes, they are naggers, faultfinders. They cause fear in other people. They make people afraid of them. Your son asks you a question. “What does agile mean?” And right away you tell him his shoe is untied, or his shirt is dirty, or his hair is not combed, and has dandruf. You notice things that are wrong. Now you have a choice on how you responded to your son. That is the negative choice. The positive use of being critical is that you see opportunities and advantages in situations. You know what needs to be done. Instead of critizing your son, spouse, or anyone; only use your criticalness when you are paid for it. Keep your criticalness to yourself, until needed. State the criticism as a statement or suggestion. “Son, agile means flexible. Thanks for asking. And don’t forget to tie your shoe, comb hair.” The critical spouse should resist trying to remake partner. Focus on the good in everything first even with children. The critical child must be made to understand the unsolicited criticism will turn people off. What should you do when you are around someone who is critical? 1 - Get there advice when you need it. They will be glad to give it. 2 - Don’t be hurt by unsolicited criticism. That’s the way they are. It has nothing to do with whether they like you are not. 3 - Try to take care of things that involve them in order to avoid their criticism. Now when you see someone with eyes that slant down, you know how they may respond to you, and you to them. Try it and see how you do.

The forehead area of the face is the top area starting at the hairline to the eyebrows. The hairline, height, length, shapes, and wrinkles should be analyzed. This area of the face develops first and signifies early years life and your relationships with your parents. The left side of the forehead is the paternal side, the right side is the maternal side. The forehead should have a pink glow to it. If the area is pale or too red (either the right or left side), you are warned of problems and should take precautions. Your forehead also indicate travel possibilities. The left side indicates out-going travel, anything moving out -- travel, goods, mail, anything moving from you to another point. The right side is incoming or moving to you, visitors, mail, goods or return from a journey. You can consult your forehead if you are planning a trip. Again, the appropriate color should be a pinkish glow. Dark or Greenish coloring indicates plans will not go well, or take extreme caution. The shape of the forehead decides the shape of the hairline. The basic shapes include; 1. Square and high shows good intellect, excellent values, with good family background and mental abilities. 2. Eyebrows are the most mobile of the face features. Along with the eyes and mouth they rise and fall with changes of moods and are very expressive. Even if you pluck or draw on them, they still reflect the mental outlook that is right for you. Without the visual stimuli that the brows provide it would be almostimpossible to detect the emotional state or mental attitude of a person. There are more variety of eyebrows than any other face part. And you could have two different eye brows. The eyebrows reveals your mental outlook, how you organize your thoughts. There are three basic shapes. Curved - people oriented, like to relate on a personal level. Straight - appreciates the logical approach, and they need all the facts. Angular - need to be mentally in control and they want to be right. The position of the brows in relationship to the eyes gives information about your approach on how you put your thoughts out into the world. High placed brows are selective, discriminative, wait and see attutide. Low place brows are are quick thinkers, informal, easy-going. There are many different shapes/types of brows. To build good rapport with someone, your gaze should meet theirs 60% to 70% of the time. BUSINESS GAZE - Imagine there is a triangle on the other person's forehead. Keep your gaze directed on this area. This will create a serious atmosphere. The other person will know you mean business. SOCIAL GAZE - When the gaze drops below the other person's eye level, a social atmosphere develops. Look at the triangular area below the eyes (include the nose and mouth). INTIMATE GAZE - This gaze goes across the eyes and below the chin to other parts of the body. When close it forms a triangle from the eyes to both sides of the chest or breasts. From a distance it is from the eyes to the crotch. If the person is interested, he/she will return the gaze. The type of gaze you use in face to face encounters have powerful results. Use the appropriate gaze for this situation. To control a person's gaze, use a pen or point to a visual aid, as you explain something for them. Next, lift the pointer from the visual aid and hold it between their eyes and yours. This will help them to see and hear what you want them to. Research has shown that of the information relayed to a person's brain, 80% comes through the eyes, 9% through the ears, and 4% through other senses.

Looking sideways can make you uncomfortable. Sideways glances may give the impression of slyness. Your prospective employer can get the wrong idea. 2. Show that you are listening. Be attentative. Make frequent eye contact with everyone in the room as they address you, or by looking at each in turn. 3. Show that you are interested by nodding, smiling, and using appropriate facial expressions. Interviews are a combination of self-promotion and ingratiation. Try to show your most positive qualities. Find out what the interviewers are looking for, and show them that you can offer it. A Call For Help!

Recently I received a call from a lady, I'll call Pat. She wanted my help with a situation she was in, and she was getting very frustrated. She stays home and keeps the house for him, and he is very demanding. At middle age, she has been in a 5-year relationship with him. And he won't commit or admit he loves her. Pat feels her relationship is like a Father/Daughter situation. He "cares" for her. He wants her to be happy and she deserves better. They argue a lot and sometimes it gets physical. He can't seem to give her the "love" she wants and craves. Pat indicated they don't have much in common. She likes to get out and do things (sports). He's a teacher and likes to stay at home and read. She wanted my advice on how to get him to love her the way she wants him to. It's a good bet she won't change him. There is a lot of hate, anger, fear, and frustration in relationships that don't work. No one desires or deserves that type of relationship. If children are involved it only makes it worse. I suggested she consider making plans to make another life for herself. I always hate to hear this. There is too much pain and suffering when couples stay together for the wrong reasons. Job Interview

I was reading the paper this morning, and read about someone who believed she lost the job, because during the interview she answered a question wrong. The question? What is your greatest weakness? She answered truthfully it was her intolerance for ignorance and frustration when others make mistakes. To me this is a no-no. What she and you should do is turn it around, and show the advantage/positive side of the weakness. Intolerance/impatient is one of my own problems. We can be very curt, concise, and blunt. But the good side of that is we don't procrastinate or waste time. We get the job done, and do it right. So, if you know how to read faces, it will get even better.

Meet Kathy Thompson

Kathy received her B.S. in Business Communications from Wisconsin State University, River Falls, late in life, after serving 13 years in the military, Air Force & Navy.

As a child raised in Western Wisconsin, Kathy was chubby, shy, backward, inferior. So the military was a big step. In order to get into the military, Kathy had to lose weight, which spurred her passion for Health & Fitness. A Master Training Instructor in the Air Force, Kathy taught classes for five years (thousands of students). She researched and developed lessons for 12 subjects. Training new instructors was also part of the job. The Navy also used Kathy’s teaching abilities. She also wrote and taught her own adult education classes at Wisconsin State University, River Falls * Open-U, Minneapolis, Minnesota, * Compu Vista, Sacramento, Ca, * Hudson, Wisconsin Community Services. Writing (fiction & non-fiction) has been a life long passion. She has over 25 years of administrative work experience which has included every type of business writing. She still uses her shorthand. Her articles have appeared in various publications on and off line. She has written a newspaper column and newsletters. Teaching and Toastmasters have made Kathy an experienced speaker. With eight years of teaching and over 15 years in Toastmasters, Kathy really enjoys the podium. In 1982, Kathy got involved in the study of Face Reading, and is one of the few Face Readers in the country. Her research has developed into; website, newsletter, reports, booklets, tapes, columns, personality profiles, shows, programs, appearances on television, radio, newspapers, and national publicity. Meet Kathy Thompson Kathy received her B.S. in Business Communications from Wisconsin State University, River Falls, late in life, after serving 13 years in the military, Air Force & Navy. As a child raised in Western Wisconsin, Kathy was chubby, shy, backward, inferior. So the military was a big step. In order to get into the military, Kathy had to lose weight, which spurred her passion for Health & Fitness. A Master Training Instructor in the Air Force, Kathy taught classes for five years (thousands of students). She researched and developed lessons for 12 subjects. Training new instructors was also part of the job. The Navy also used Kathy’s teaching abilities. She also wrote and taught her own adult education classes at Wisconsin State University, River Falls * Open-U, Minneapolis, Minnesota, * Compu Vista, Sacramento, Ca, * Hudson, Wisconsin Community Services. Writing (fiction & non-fiction) has been a life long passion. She has over 25 years of administrative work experience which has included every type of business writing. She still uses her shorthand. Her articles have appeared in various publications on and off line. She has written a newspaper column and newsletters. Teaching and Toastmasters have made Kathy an experienced speaker. With eight years of teaching and over 15 years in Toastmasters, Kathy really enjoys the podium. The Truth About Money! How much money do you want? How much is enough? How much money is too much? The Truth is --- You Don't Need Money! Let's Find Out Why? Money is really just a form of exchange. Here is an example. 10 people are in a room. Only one person has $1. Person #2 had a pocket knife he was willing to sell to person #1 for $1. Person #1 buys it, giving the dollar to person #2. Person #3 has a book, which person #2 wants and buys it giving the dollar to #3. Person #4 has a watch that #3 buys, so #4 got the $1. #5 has some earrings #4 bought. This goes on until finally #10 has the dollar. $10 worth of transactions took place with only $1. The only thing that money can buy is LABOR. Well, think about this. The price you paid for your home buys nothing but labor. The labor paid for the felling of trees, reducing them to lumber, labor for making the concrete, and other materials that came from the earth. When you buy food, you are paying for the labor that is involved for growing, cultivating, transporting the foodstuffs. Actually the Earth supplies everything we need in abundance for FREE -- trees, ore, raw materials for clothes, metals, food. We pay people to bring it to us. Man has been around for thousands of years. Now we're relying on technology to make our life easier? Maybe we should get back to the Earth, and bring the family home to what really matters. In your daily life you are not working for money (working for yourself or someone else), you are working for what it buys! Keep that in mind. Money has nothing to do with happiness. Make an agreement with yourself and the world to spread your abundance around. It will be returned to you. Then you will be successful, prosperous and happy. What is important to you?
